TEHRAN – The commander of the Iranian Army's Ground Forces has unveiled plans to mass-produce two newly developed missiles, confirming the completion of their construction phases.

In an interview with Iranian media, Brigadier General Kioumars Heidari said the formal introduction of the two newly developed missiles is expected soon.

Heidari discussed the country’s military agenda, highlighting ongoing annual drills, including a successful drone drill in October. He mentioned that multiple ground force units would conduct exercises throughout the year, with a major one scheduled before year-end.

Heidari also addressed the deployment of missile, drone, and artillery units at the borders, emphasizing their role in ensuring stable national security and enhancing the readiness of forces. Currently, 11 mobile and assault units of the Iranian Army's Ground Forces are stationed at the borders.

Continuing with the development of missile units, Heidari confirmed the completion of construction phases for two approved missiles within the Army's Ground Forces. These missiles are poised for an imminent unveiling and subsequent mass production.

The Army Ground Force Commander outlined the new structure, noting the establishment of five drone units and five missile groups currently stationed at the borders. He stressed that this deployment is not a threat but a strategic maneuver for increasing security dominance, enhancing readiness, and familiarizing forces with the country's border geography.

Heidari addressed the imperative for a decisive response to the terrorist attack in southeastern city of Kerman, condemning the enemies' blind and heinous acts. He asserted that the Iranian people will not let such actions go unanswered, ensuring swift retribution. During a ceremony marking four years since Iranian anti-terror commander, Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani’s martyrdom, two explosions took place near his tomb, claiming 94 innocent lives and leaving more than 200 wounded.

The Army Ground Force Commander underscored that the enemies' malicious acts bring disgrace upon themselves each day. 

Despite attempts by global adversaries to undermine Iran's security, he asserted that Iran remains one of the safest countries globally. “This is thanks to the powerful system of the Islamic Republic and the vigilance of the armed forces and intelligence services,” he further noted.

Iranian authorities have consistently stated their commitment to enhancing the country's military capabilities, particularly its missile prowess, with a clear focus on defensive purposes. They have asserted that Iran's defense capabilities are non-negotiable and will not be subject to discussions.
